3243 Piano di Gestione Basso Aurino †“ Relazione sintetica degli interventi realizzati in localití  Rienzfield, Gatzaue e Molini di Tures (2002-2011) River restoration measures were implemented along the Aurino stream as part of the Aurino management plan. Interventions were grouped in Work Packages and were implemented in different moments within the years 2003-2011. The objectives were flood protection and, secondarily, the improvement of the natural environment. Different interventions were implemented to widen the river bed, such as for example: (i) forests were cleared in the relevant areas, to add space to the river bed; (ii) (artificial) river banks were lowered and enlarged; (iii) re-activation or creation of lateral river branches; (iv) measures to raise the river bed†™s level. 3491 Pollutant Removal Efficiencies and Flow Detention of Infiltration Trenches The study is carried out by flow weighted sampling at the inlet and outlet of one infiltration trench in Kungsbacka south of Gothenburg, located under the parking lot of a supermarket. The observations and sampling were conducted during April to June 2012 and the results from five storm events were analyzed. Infiltration trenches in Kungsbacka, Sweden
3366 Post-fire water retention management : The case study of Ancient Olympia, Greece The retention measures include the temporary installation of structures utilizing locally available timber in order to increase water retention and prevent soil erosion and flood events. 3373 Potential Use of Runoff Attenuation Features in small Rural Catchments for Flood Mitigation Development of a number of small scale, low cost soft engineered flood reduction schemes, designed to store/attenuate rapid runoff in small rural catchments. Design and implimentation of a network of 35 NWRM measures in a Northumberland catchment. To aid understanding of how features impact on downstream flood hazard. 3487 Potentiel écologique d’un ouvrage de rétention et de filtration des eaux pluviales sur une opération de 172 hectares (Reims) ; analyse de la genèse du projet A 172 ha town planning project has been developed near Reims (France) for the last five years. For one of the catchments of this area (72ha) a 15 000 m3 detention pond is being built, in a difficult hydrogeological context since ground water level may rise up to the natural ground. Constructed wetland with reed bed filters near Reims, France
3223 Preclassification of Ecological Quality in the Odelouca catchment area and its use in restoration guidelines The demands of the Water Framework Directive over the next few years imply considerable effort in the conservation and restoration of river reaches based upon the reliable classification of river corridor conservation status that discloses information on causes of degradation. Using an adaptation of the KT Method, originally developed as part of the National Water Plan, a Map of River Corridor Conservation Status was drawn up for the River Odelouca catchment area that included the definition of existing fluvial reaches using geographic and hydrogeomorphological variables which were then assessed according to the presence of anthropogenic pressures Natural bank stabilization and riparian buffer galleries along the Odelouca River, Portugal
3265 Preparation of a Management Plan for the Oroklini Lake (in Greek) The ecological, socioeconomic, human activities, land use, biotic and abiotic characteristics, flora and fauna and dangers are assessed. A Management Plan of the area †œOroklini Lake† under the NATURA (CY 6000011) and a monitoring plan is developed. Oroklini wetland restoration in Cyprus

3538 Project Description The overall goal of the project is to re-establish a favourable conservation status for eight targeted freshwater habitats and six wetland habitat SCIs. The project sites †“ Pohorje, Zelenci, Vrhe, Planik, Gornji kal and Mura-Petišovci contain different ypes of wetlands, all of which have suffered from a lack of appropriate management.
3370 Project RMP5455: Slowing the Flow at Pickering, Final Report to Defra, Forest Research The Project 'Slowing the Flow at Pickering' implements multiple natural flood risk measures including low level bunds, large woody debris dams, planting riparian and floodplain woodland, planting farm woodland, blocking moorland drains and establishing no-burn buffer zones, blocking forest drains and implementing farm-scale measures. The aim of the project is to show how land management measures can help to reduce flood risk from a river in the town and is implemented in close cooperation with local stakeholders. The project involved both the Pickering Beck and adjacent River Seven catchments, the description of measures described below relate to the former. Slowing the Flow at Pickering, UK
