Key lessons
The main factor facilitating successful regeneration of peatbog vetetaion was the restoration of the water regime. The main factor incluencing the vegetation of flooded areas are water table height, depth of the remaining peat, and successional age.

Sphagnum mosses were reintroduced, especially into the shallow basins. The initial vegetation was dominated by wetland species growing mostly on the wet bases of the draining dithces.
