This note aims at raising some basic methodological issues that might be key to clarify both the content and the scope of the Pilot Project "Atmospheric Precipitation Protection and Efficient use of Freshwater: Integration of Natural Water Retention Measures (NWRM) in River basin Management".
In close interaction with existing and future NWRM practitioners, the NWRM initiative will ultimately produce a practical guide that can support the design and implementation of NWRM in Europe.
The present consultation note was prepared to steer discussions and feedbacks on the practical guide that will be developed. It focuses on three key issues: (i) the process proposed for developing the guide; (ii) the structure of the guide; and (iii) the type of information that will be provided in the guide.
For each item, a series of questions is proposed for steering the debate among all interested partners. The answers collected will help refining the proposed approach and the structure of the practical guide so it better responds to the expectations and demands of its potential users.
